Luca Salsi Cancels ‘Pagliacci’ at Teatro Comunale di Bologna

Luca Salsi has canceled his engagement at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

In a statement, Salsi said, “Dear Friends, alas, seasonal illnesses have forced me to cancel ‘Pagliacci’ rehearsals at Teatro Comunale di Bologna and therefore I don’t feel like facing such a challenging debut without having ever tried. I thank my friend Claudio Sgura and I wish him the best!!! We’ll see each other in this wonderful Theater soon!!”

Claudio Sgura will perform on Dec. 22, when Salsi was set to take on the role of Tonio.

He will join a cast that includes Mariangela Sicilia, Mario Cassi, Paolo Antognetti, and Gregory Kunde. Daniel Oren conducts the production by Serena Sinigaglia.
