Ludovic Morlot Extends Contract with Barcelona Orchestra

Barcelona’s L’Auditori has renewed Artistic Director Ludovic Morlot’s contract.
Morlot will continue leading the Orquesta Sinfónica de Barcelona y Nacional de Cataluña until 2028.
The company also announced that José R. Pascual-Vilaplana will extend his contract with La Banda Municipal de Barcelona (BMB) for two more years.
The decision was approved by the Gobierno del Consorcio del Auditori y la Orquesta.
Morlot began his work with the OBC during the 2022-23 season. He has worked with several orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic, and Boston Symphony, and was Music Director of the Seattle Symphony for eight years. In 2019 he was appointed Associate Artist of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra and was Artistic Director and a founding member of the National Youth Orchestra of China 2017-2021. From 2012-2014 he was Chief Conductor of La Monnaie.
