By Francisco Salazar

The Dallas Opera is set to present two of its signature events.

The two concerts will take place on Jan. 25 and 26, 2025. The first will be the annual Linda and Mitch Hart Institute for Women Conductors Showcase Concert on Jan. 25 and the second will be the 2025 Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Family Recital, featuring German baritone Christian Gerhaher and pianist Gerold Huber on Jan. 26, 2025

The Hart Institute Showcase Concert will feature four rising star conductors, Jiannan Cheng, Anna Castro Grinstein, Valery Saul, and CJ Wu. The performance will see each conductor lead arias and ensemble pieces from Purcell’s “Dido and Aeneas,” Strauss’ “Der Rosenkavalier,” Bizet’s “Carmen,” and Frank’s “El último sueño de Frida y Diego.”

The concert’s soloists are singers from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and will include sopranos Ashley Ruckman and Siyi Yan, mezzo-soprano Veronica Siebert, tenors Jinpark Choi and Josh Hooker, and baritone Robert Wente.

Secondly, the Robert E. and Jean Ann Titus Family Recital will showcase Gerhaher and Huberin an all-Schumann program.
