Elisa Gogou has been named General Music Director of the Lower Bavarian Landestheater.

Gogou will take the position in 2026 and will succeed Basil Coleman.

The Lower Bavaria Regional Theater Association announced the news. 

Gogou was born in Thessaloniki, Greece, and studied piano at the State Conservatory. She is a winner of the First Prize at the YAMAHA Foundation of Europe Piano Competition and has been the Kapellmeister of the Erfurt Theatre. She was also appointed in 2012 Kapellmeister at the Bielefeld Theatre and in 2016 1st Kapellmeister and Deputy General Music Director at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau.

She has guest conducted at the Komische Oper Berlin, the Saarbrücken State Theatre, and the Würzburg Theatre.
